October 7, 2008
RSSS kicked off its 25th anniversary users conference Monday in Corpus Christi, Texas, with a game of four man scramble at Newport Dunes -- a new Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course on the Texas Gulf Coast.
The team of Jan Miller, Joe Hopkins, Mike Frawley and Mark Rettig won the tournament with a four under par score of 67.

Around 30 players teed off at the links-style 1800 acre course in the opening event of the RSSS users conference October 6-8.
The conference will highlight a series of system enhancements that are part of the company's modernization plan beginning Tuesday at the general session lead by High Touch CEO Wayne Chambers. High Touch is the parent company of RSSS.
RSSS serves around 1,000 storefronts and 150 companies including easyhome, Buddy's Home Furnishings, Rent One, American Rental and Rent-A-Center accounts receivable locations.
Some of the enhancements to be discussed during the conference is the company's migration to a Linux Operating System, web based reporting, network monitoring tools and a new web payments interface.
Jeff Miller, vice president of 14-store Hometown Rentals based in Virginia, is attending his third RSSS users conference this year.

At the RSSS hospitality reception after the tournament, Miller said he was attending the conference primarily to learn more about the RSSS virtual private network protocol. He said he interviewed three software companies before settling on RSSS -- a company that treats its clients the way he treats his customers.
"The thing about RSSS is you can always pick up the phone and find someone to help you out," Miller said. "At our store, we try to treat our customers the way they want to be treated and that's the attitude at RSSS."
