Rent-to-own News - Right Choice's Tony Craig joins Showplace

September 12, 2011

Tony and wife Tammy Craig.

Tony Craig, president of Choice Today, a unique corporation bringing business and ministry together, today announced his plans to step down as president of the company, as well as its two brands Measuring Up and CLAY Team Sports Ministry, accepting a position with Showplace, an Ohio-based rent-to-own ("RTO") company with nearly 20 locations.

"We at Showplace are excited to get Tony and his family back into Ohio and RTO," said Gary Ferriman, owner/president of Showplace.

As a part of this transition, Tony and wife Tammy will relocate to Ohio. Their son Dustin, who currently serves as CLAY's Executive Director, will stay in Erie for the next CLAY season. Dustin, who is also founder and chairman of Right Choice Today, will take over as company president. Their daughter is currently attending college in Pittsburgh.

"With Tammy taking care of Measuring Up's clients, and Dustin firmly in control of CLAY Team Sports Ministry, the timing is perfect for me to return to my rent-to-own roots," said Craig.

Showplace has been a client of Measuring Up since its inception in 2007.

"We built something special and that Tammy has done a great job managing it," Craig said. "I've spent most of the last two years designing a private social media network to support CLAY, and it will be released to the public later this month. I'm ready for my next adventure, and I look forward to working with Gary and his dynamic team."

by Neil Ferguson

Who Is Your Competition?

by Bill Keese

In order to expand your customer base, you can learn a lot by observing your competitors. But first, you need to figure out just who they are. If you think your only competition is the rent-to-own store down the street, you’re not considering the bigger picture. APRO’s executive director offers a big-picture perspective.

A Review of Online Customer Complaints

by Ed Winn III

While rent-to-own companies have not cornered the market on negative reviews posted on consumer complaint websites, it’s no surprise that there are cyberspace beefs against RTO. APRO’s general counsel reviews some of them in search of a pattern and he considers appropriate response to online complaints.
