Rent-to-own News - Bill Keese ties knot in Houston

May 19, 2008

APRO Executive Director Bill Keese Saturday bid farewell to 20-plus years of bachelorhood when he exchanged wedding vows with Debby Haarup in an intimate ceremony at the Houston Museum of Natural Science.

Newlyweds Bill and Debby Keese.

Long-time friends, Keese and Haarup -- who've known each other since junior high -- both graduated from Milby High School in Houston.

The couple welcomed friends and family, high school classmates, members of Keese's fraternity from his days at the University of Texas, and a sizable contingent of the rent-to-own community -- including several APRO board members -- to the ceremony which concluded with a cocktail reception in the museum's Paleontology Hall.

The couple's wedding invitation alluded to their interesting choice of venue: "Two more fossils celebrating among the dinosaurs."

Keese's daughter, Maura Davies, and Haarup's daughters Lindsey and Keely Madison participated in the ceremony, as did Keese's grandson, Archer Davies

Archer's job was to transport Haarup's infant grandson, Lane Madison, to the alter via stroller -- a task accomplished with expert precision.

The newlyweds Keese are currently honeymooning in New York City. They will make their home in Austin, Texas where Debby -- an architect -- is busy remodeling Bill's house.

Bill Keese became APRO's executive director in 1989.
