Tennessee Rental Dealers Association President Larry Goad shares his insight on how to motivate membership in a state where business is good and there are no immediate threats on the legislative horizon.

Goad, who owns five Zion's Rental Purchase stores in Tennessee, Kentucky and Virginia, discusses the importance of providing dealers with practical information they can put to use in their businesses immediately, the power of networking and the impact of rising gas prices on business costs.

"We don't have the problem some of the states do with legislators breathing down our necks," Goad says. "The drawback of that is a lot of times your smaller companies don't see the need to be a part of a larger organization especially when there are no fires to put out. So we really have to focus on the educational and networking aspects so they can leave here with something tangible about how to improve their business."
